wckclan.net - Terms of Service

We talk a lot about life and a myriad of subjects. What we need to talk about is being prepared and safe online. There are many things that can be done online to keep you and your family safe online. We are going to detail some here and discuss more ways everyone can stay safe online.

This our first subject will be the most unpleasant but most important subject, keeping children safe. Especially from child predators. We don't want to skirt or downplay the issue, because this is of the highest priority. What follows is what we need to do to keep children safe:

-All members will be instructed to be aware of any suspicious behavior around the younger members of our clan. This includes but is not exclusive to:

--Younger members spending a lot of time alone with older members.

--Checking on how younger members are doing to get a sense if things change in their lives that we as a community can help them navigate.

--All members will agree to report any suspicious activity to as many senior clan members as possible.

-Our younger members should be aware that there is a problem that they need to inform as many Senior Members as possible of and likely a Parent or Guardian about:

--If any adult keeps attempting to get the younger member alone.

--DO NOT GIVE ANYONE Your Real Name.

--DO NOT GIVE ANYONE School Information.

--DO NOT GIVE ANYONE Any Personal Addresses.

--DO NOT GIVE ANYONE Any Phone Number

--DO NOT ANSWER ANY questions about sexuality.

--DO NOT ANSWER ANY Questions that makes the member feel uncomfortable.

-What Parents can do to help keep children safe in all their online endeavors:

--Only allow online access in common areas.

--Take an interest in what your child is doing, especially in random intervals.

--Watch for sudden and drastic changes in your child's behavior.

--Set Parental Controls using a random passwords that your children are never given access to.

--Often check browser history.

--Check your children's Email's and text often, and again randomly.

--Seemingly unrelated, spend time with your kids and show them that they are loved. That is the best way to keep predators away from them.

I have read and agree to abide by these Terms.
